I believe Nordstrom is luring shoppers to their website with incredible offers they have no intention of fulfilling. In the last week or two I have received cancellations on three occasions. Each time, I was able to choose the merchandise, put it into my shopping cart, enter my information and get confirmation. Then, a few days go by and then I get a notice of cancellation.

Here is my email correspondence with Nordstrom:

December 9thSubject: order cancellations

I have always loved Nordstroms because of its service and customer commitment. This holiday season I havenโ€™t been so thrilled.

Several of my orders have been canceled. It seems deliberate, reel in the customer with enticing offers that never really existed. It has been extremely frustrating. It takes time and effort to shop on your sight, type in all the billing information, take the item off the wish list, only to receive a somewhat flippant email that basically says. "hereโ€™s some more expensive substitutes for you." Other companies immediately let you know if something is out of stock and take it out of your shopping basket. I truly have not worked with another company that shares your methods.

I hope you go back to your days of integrity, if not, I will no longer shop at Nordstroms.

Received from Nordstroms on 12/10/15:Dear Ms. xxxxxx,

I'm sorry your orders canceled! I know that's extremely frustrating. Please know this isn't typical and we would be glad to help find similar items if you would like. I know we let you down and it's important to us that you know we are terribly sorry for that. I hope that you can afford us another chance in the future to earn back your trust.

My thoughts after receiving this email:When she writes, "Please know this isn't typical":- well it seems to the norm in recent history

When she writes, "we would be glad to help find similar items if you would like."- she doesn't specifically offer any substitution at the same price

I know we let you down and it's important to us that you know we are terribly sorry for that. I hope that you can afford us another chance in the future to earn back your trust.

Next time you find something you want on Nordstrom.com call any store, give them the item number and they will tell you every store in the company that has the item available. If none are close to you they will contact a specific store, have the employee on the other end of the phone secure the item and take it to the shipping room so it can be sent to you.

It's a great system.

I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD IT WITH NORDSTROM. I TOO AM IN VIRGINIA AND IVE ORDERED THE SAME COAT ONLINE WHICH HAPPENS TO BE 40 PERCENT OFF AND EXCLUSIVE TO NORDSTROM SO I CANNOT GET THIS COAT ANYWHERE ELSE...TWO TIMES FOR BOTH ORDERS TO CANCEL OUT AFTER TYING UP MY MONEY FOR A WEEK.

THEY STILL TO THIS DAY LIST THESE COATS AS AVAILABLE ONLINE IN TWO SIZES IVE TRIED ORDERING TO GET CANCELATIONS SO THEY ARE MISLEADING CUSTOMERS WITH THESE BOGUS SALES ADS,. I JUST CALLED THEM AND THE WOMAN GAVE ME SOME *** STORY ABOUT HOW THE WEBSITE IS UPDATED DAILY AND ISNT ACCURATE...WELL, EVEN IF ITS UPDATED DAILY, THIS COAT HAS BEEN LISTED IN THESE TWO SIZES FOR OVER A WEEK. I WAS EXPECTING ONE ON XMAS EVE AND IT NEVER CAME AND I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO EMAIL FRON NORDSTOM THAT I WASNT ARRIVING.

TERRIBLE. I WONT ORDER EVER AGAIN FROM NORSTROM.
